Clear Spring
Situated in Washington County, the spring, for which Clear Spring earned its name, still flows at the foot of Fairview Mountain on the south side of Route 40, once a dirt and gravel highway to the west that completed the connection between Baltimore and Cumberland by 1823.

Hagerstown
Hagerstown was founded in 1762 by Jonathan Hager, a gunsmith, fur trader, farmer, and politician. Myersville
The Town of Myersville was incorporated by an Act of the Maryland Legislature in March, 1904. The incorporation of the Myersville and Catoctin Railway Company in 1898 brought the railway to Myersville, and the history of Myersville in the first half of the twentieth century is intertwined with that of the Trolley and its extension to Myersville.
