A Look into Maryland's Pre-historic Past - Biggs Ford

If Maryland's Native American History and Pre-historic past is a mystery to you, then join the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum on SATURDAY MAY 3rd 1:00 pm for a presentation and learn about the fascinating history of the Biggs Ford site, a large, well preserved multi-component Native American village located on the banks of the Monocacy river in Frederick County, Maryland (this is on the way to Thurmont). This possibly palisaded settlement was occupied by peoples of the Monocacy Complex (1000-1450 AD) and the Luray Complex (1300-1500 AD).

The guest lecturer will be Dr. Lauren Lippiello, Frederick Community College, Program Manager Anthropology and Geology. Question and Answer period to follow lecture.

Fee: $5.00 includes admission to 3 indoor museums and historic rural Maryland Village. Museum members and children under age 3 FREE.

Location: 7313 Sharpsburg Pike (Route 65) Boonsboro, MD 21713. Museum Welcome Center. Watch for signs.
