Kari Saavedra serves as Recreation Manger for Frederick County Parks and Recreation overseeing the Natural, Cultural Heritage and Adaptive Recreation and Events teams. Prior to her role as Recreation Manager Kari served for twelve years Museum Manger for Rose Hill Manor Park & Museums. She has worked in the museum field for over 20 years with experience in visitor services, education and administration.She received her Master of Arts in History from the University of Maryland College Park (2006). Kari is a certified Master Docent through the Frederick Historic Sites Consortium and serves as co-chair of the Consortium. She is a Certified Interpretive Guide through NAI. She works closely with the local Tourism Board where she also serves as chair for the Frederick County Tourism Reinvestment in Program and Planning Grant program. She also serves on several other local boards.  In her spare time Kari volunteers with her church and enjoys spending time with her family. She and her kids love visiting our various parks to play, hike and experience moments that build memories.
