Project Grants - Heart of the Civil War

Please be advised that by August 31, 2025, MHT will move to a new online grants portal, and you will no longer have access to your previous application history. It is not necessary to download your old applications and materials. However, if you wish to have copies for your records, please follow the instructions below prior to August 31, 2025.

• Log in to the grants portal here: https://www.grantrequest.com/SID_1777
• Locate any applications you would like to retain. You may use the “Show” drop-down box on the right-hand side of your page to alternate between In Progress and Submitted applications.
• Click the “Application Name” to open a view of the application. It will open in a new tab.
• Finally, right-click anywhere on the application and select “Save as” in the drop-down menu. From here, identify where you would like to save the webpage on your computer. Click “Save.”
• The application will be saved as a webpage (.html) file. To turn it into a PDF, right-click anywhere on the application and select “Print” in the drop-down menu. From here, select “Save as PDF” in the Destination box and identify where you would like to save the PDF before clicking “Save.”

MHAA Project Grant awards may be as high as $50,000 for non-capital projects and $100,000 for capital projects. This matching grant opportunity is open to nonprofit organizations and local or federal government agencies in the boundaries of the heritage area.

Proposals should align with the goals and priorities described in the HCWHA Management Plan and the new Strategic Plan.
