Battle of South Mountain Anniversary Commemoration

Park staff and volunteers will present living history and cannon firing demonstrations to commemorate the 164th anniversary of the Battle of South Mountain. Participate in interpretive talks about the significance of the battle and learn about the significant role that artillery played in the attack and defense of the mountain. Cannon firing demonstrations will be presented at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. both days.
